Carajillo
Mexico's two-ingredient legend: sweet liqueur, strong coffee, big ice.
🕒 2 min🍴 1 cocktail
You'll need
- 1½ oz Licor 43 (or another vanilla-citrus liqueur)
- 2 tsp QuicKafe concentrate
- 2 oz hot or cold water
- A rocks glass with one large ice cube
How to make it
- Stir the concentrate into the water — that's your bold coffee base, stronger than drinking strength on purpose.
- Pour the liqueur over the big cube, then the coffee over the top.
- Stir gently and watch it turn the color of polished mahogany. Shake it with ice instead for the frothy 'carajillo batido' version.
☕ Good to know: This is Mexico City's favorite after-dinner drink for a reason: the liqueur brings all the sweetness, so nothing else is needed. 21+ only.
🍯 Flavor pairing: ORIGINAL or DECAF — a late-evening carajillo with DECAF is a genuinely civilized move.
